The Beautiful Girls Day is Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9:00 AM - 2:15 PM here at the building. It is for girls who are in grades 6-12 and their mothers. The speaker is Mandy Conner. Please register by Sept. 15. There is no cost for the workshop, but t-shirts are available for $10.00.
The next Wednesday night meal is Sept. 8 in the Annex from 6:00 - 6:40. The menu is Pizza, Dessert, Tea and Lemonade. Please sign the sheet(s) in the foyer to attend and to help setup, serve and cleanup.
Our college and young adult class will begin Sunday, Sept. 5, in the college room in the Educational Building with Kurt Chunn as the teacher. The class will meet in the new educational building.
The following items are needed for the girls workshop on Sept. 25. There is a need for black and silver picture frames of all sizes, crystal votive holders and candlesticks, decorative mirrors (handheld, tabletop, or free standing) for the Beautiful Girls Day. You are invited to participate in Cherokee Home For Children Annual Auction which benefits the children living there at the home. Activities begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010. Donated items are being accepted and picked up until Sept. 17, 2010. The deadline for scheduling a pickup of donated items is Sept. 6. Call Tommy at 325-622-4201 to ask questions.
The Ladies Bible Class resumes meeting Tuesday, September 7, at 10 a.m. in the Old Fellowship Room. Becky Blackmon is the teacher, and the course of study is the parables. There will be an attended nursery for those who need that kind of assistance.
The Ladies Bible Class will have a hamburger luncheon following class on Sept. 14. Dale and Ernie will be the cooks!
The elders are meeting Sunday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m. in the Library. Those who need to meet with them are invited to come at 5:15.
Amy Abel responded on Sunday morning Aug. 29 to ask for prayers and wisdom to deal with a number of concerns in her life.
Wesley Williams was baptized into Christ on Sunday night Aug. 29. He is the son of Bryan and Kerry Williams.

The Thursday evening Ecclesiastes class meets Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at Ann Russell’s home. All ladies are welcome to attend.

The second contribution September 5 is for the homes for children at Cherokee and Stephenville.
You are invited to 2010 Children’s Day at Foster’s Home For Children in Stephenville on Saturday, September 11, beginning at noon with a free BBQ lunch. This is a good time to meet the children and the staff.
There will be a POTLUCK fellowship meal on Sunday night, September 19, following the evening services. Make plans to share the evening meal together. Please bring enough for your family and a little extra for visitors.
Kyndall Aldrich and his family will be with us on Sunday night, September 19, for the evening services. He will be preaching that night. Kyndall is the student at Brown Trail School of Preaching which we help support. He has just started the second year of a two year program. Remember him and his family in prayer as he prepares to preach.
YOUTH NEWS
Wednesday, September 15th, after Bible classes there will be a representative from Freed-Hardeman University here to share information and answer any questions that anyone may have about Freed-Hardeman. She’ll have food and some things to give away. This should be especially of an interest to our juniors, seniors and their parents. Even if you know where you want to go to school, come and check it out. It will only last 30-45 minutes.
Don’t forget to bring a $1 for Juan.
This Sunday, the 5th, the Jr. high will go back to their class in the Education Annex. The Herbelins will be teaching.
