EARNESTLY SPEAKING

THE END OF THE

WORLD IS ALMOST HERE!

HOLY GOD

WILL BRING

JUDGMENT DAY ON

MAY 21, 2011

This is the title of a tract I received in the mail about a week or so ago.  In it the author goes to great length to set the date of the coming judgment.  His argument is lacking, but his zeal is not.

The judgment day is coming!  God has given Jesus authority to execute judgment (John 5:27).  God has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained and has given assurance to all men by raising Jesus from the dead (Acts 17:31).  It is appointed to man to die once, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

But we do not know when that day will come.  The Scriptures do not reveal the time or the day. “But of that day and hour no man knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36).  The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night (2 Peter 3:10).

Not knowing when the judgment day will be should serve as a warning to be ready for that day.  Let us watch and be ready!

DALE'S NOTE

Be a hero.  Don’t think you can?  Let me  remind you of some of the people in the   Bible who are examples of unnamed heroes…

1. Unexpected: The young girl captured and taken as a slave helps Naaman find the cure for his leprosy (2 Kings 5).

2. Unpolished: God chose the shepherds sleeping nearby to be the messengers about the birth of the Messiah (Luke 2).

3. Unworthy: The Roman Centurion knew that Jesus could heal his servant and had the boldness and faith to approach him directly (Matthew 8).

4. Underestimated: I bet the boy didn’t think when he left home that morning that his little lunch would be used by  Jesus to feed thousands of people (John 6).

5. Unranked: Paul’s nephew loved him enough to risk his own life to reveal the plot by the Jews to kill his uncle (Acts 23).

Don’t sell yourself short!  God placed you on this earth for a purpose and gave you the gift or gifts you need to accomplish that purpose.  You have the ability to significantly impact this world.  Don’t miss your opportunity.  God works through everyday people all the time.

See you Sunday,

Dale
